Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between emotional health coaching, recovery coaching and counseling/therapy?

Emotional health coaching focuses on helping clients understand and regulate emotions and build skills for everyday life. It is educational and strength-based.

Recovery coaching includes emotional health support and specifically focuses on helping people navigating recovery from substance use or behavioral health challenges. Our recovery work is guided by a Certified Peer Support Specialist trained in supporting others through recovery.

Counseling/therapy is a clinical mental health service provided by a licensed professional. Therapists treat diagnosable mental health conditions and support clients navigating daily life impacts such as anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship issues.

What kinds of recovery goals do you help with?

We support personal growth in areas including emotional recovery, healing from trauma, rebuilding relationships, and navigating life transitions. Our coaching is tailored to your goals and where you are in your journey.

Who benefits from coaching?

Anyone who wants to grow, improve emotional wellness, and cultivate healthier patterns in life can benefit from coaching. If you’re curious about understanding yourself better and building resilience, coaching can be valuable.

What do one-on-one sessions look like?

Sessions are collaborative and goal-focused. We may talk through specific emotions you’re experiencing (anger, sadness, joy, love) and explore patterns that show up in your life. Together we develop strategies to support your goals and build skills that can help you beyond the coaching space.

What type of things will we talk about?

We begin with your goals and what matters most to you. From there, we explore relevant emotions, behaviors, relationships, and thought patterns to help you build clarity and tools to move forward. Coaching is short-term and forward-focused, though you may choose to continue as goals evolve.

Do you accept insurance?

At this time, Inspiring the Individual, LLC does not accept insurance. Many clients find our fees are comparable to typical insurance copays. We encourage you to call with questions and review our rates.

Are you an AA-based program?

No. While we respect 12-step fellowships like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and understand they can be helpful for many people, our coaching and recovery support are not AA-based. We do not use the 12-step model as our framework. Instead, we take time to truly understand you — your story, your challenges, and your hopes. Recovery is not one-size-fits-all. Each program is thoughtfully and collaboratively tailored to the clients unique needs, strengths, goal, and circumstances. Because every individual’s journey is different, no two recovery programs are ever the same - ensuring a truly personalized and meaningful healing experience.
